We are into the final two weeks of the regular season and we can almost taste the playoffs.
Every game is important in College, but for anyone in the top 4, any slip up now would be disastrous and will likely end their playoff hopes.
I've given a few game preview for three games I recommend keeping a close eye on.
My game of the week
7 Michigan State (9-1) @ 4 Ohio State (9-1)
BT Sport ESPN - 5pm GMT
Ohio State started the season slow, with many being underwhelmed with their performances. As the season has progressed they've improved each week and currently sit ranked third.
Many predicted last weeks game against Purdue could be a banana skin but unlike Iowa & Michigan State they avoided any upset and put that game away very early on before completing their victory 59-31.
It was probably the best performance of the season for them.
Now they come up against a strong Michigan State team, who has completely surprised everyone. Including the bookies who set their win total in the regular season at 4.5. Bearing in mind they are currently 9-1, the bookies wasn't even close.
Michigan State are heavily reliant on their Heisman Trophy candidate running back Kenneth Walker III who is the current leading rusher in the FBS. Despite a good all round receiver in Jayden Reed and speedy Jalen Naylor offering options in the passing game, realistically if the Spartans has any chance of winning the game, it will be by dominating possession on the ground.
The Buckeyes passing game really ignited against a strong Purdue defence last week and Michigan State’s passing defence is one of the weakest in College Football right now.
It has the makings of a great game, although the key matchups seem to be favouring the Buckeyes if they continue where they left off last week.
Players to watch
Ohio State Buckeyes
CJ Stroud - QB 30 Passing Touchdowns, 3068 Passing Yards
Trey Henderson - RB - 1028 Rush Yards, 14 Rush Touchdowns
All Ohio State's receivers
Michigan State Spartans
Kenneth Walker - RB - 1473 Rush Yards, 17 Touchdowns
Jayden Reed - WR - 829 Receiving Yards, 7 Touchdowns
Iowa State (6-4) @ 13 Oklahoma (9-1) 5pm GMT
On the surface this should be a fairly comfortable win for Oklahoma. Well, If you watched the Sooners loss last week to Baylor you will know that a good defence can slow down this Lincoln Riley offence. Iowa State definitely possesses a strong defence, a defence that at times has had to remain strong whilst the offence has had its struggles.
Then you have to remember that Iowa State shocked the College world early last year by beating the Sooners. Of course both Iowa State and Oklahoma found themselves competing in the Big 12 Championship last year, where Oklahoma completed their revenge by beating Iowa State in a close one.
Will Caleb Williams and this Sooners offence get back to their dominant ways or will the Cyclones prove that the Sooners have just been pretenders all along
Players to watch
Iowa State Cyclones
Breece Hall - RB - 1164 Rush Yards, 16 Touchdowns
Will Mcdonald - Edge - 10 Sacks this season & FBS sack leader last year
Caleb Williams - QB - he's taken over the QB duties in his Freshman year, passing for 14 Touchdowns to date
10 Wake Forest (9-1) @ Clemson (7-3) BT Sport 3 - 5pm
A crucial matchup to decide the Atlantic division in the ACC. Clemson's season has been unusually full of disappointment following the departure of Trevor Lawrence as well as multiple key players to the NFL Draft in 2021. Although in saying this, here they are 7-3 and 5-2 in their Division just 1 game back on leaders Wake Forest.
Wake Forest has been another surprise team this season. Quarterback Sam Hartman has made huge improvements and has even thrown his hat in the ring for the Heisman Trophy as of late, although their defeat to UNC two weeks ago seems to have simmered that speculation down. Hartman is rising up Draft Boards in a Quarterback class that no one really knows who's the best. The Wake Forest offence has been explosive all season, which is the complete opposite to the Clemson Tigers. Can the Tigers defence keep the game tight enough for their offence to steal the win and keep the hopes alive for another ACC title game, or do Wake Forest get the win and wrap up the Atlantic, with a chance to end a 15 year Championship drought?
Players to watch
Sam Hartman - QB - 30 Passing Touchdowns, 3163 Passing Yards
3 Oregan (9-1) @ 23 Utah (7-3)
BT Sport ESPN Midnight
Another test for Oregan, Utah are most peoples favorites to face Oregan in the Pac 12 Championship game. Utah are only 1 game ahead of Arizona State so really need to win to ensure they win their Division.
Oregan obviously need to win to avoid dropping out of the top 4. They've managed to just about see off challenges over recent weeks, but is this the week the Ducks fall?
Utah are actually -3 favorites in this one, so this game could be where the domino's are more likely to fall in the playoff hunt.
